MIGRATION TOUR TANZANIA MIXED CAMPING AND LODGE SAFARIS
Serengeti and Masai Mara Migrations, Tanzania Kenya safari.
Day 1:
The migration tour of Tanzania starts with a morning departure from Arusha eventually, transfer to the Serengeti Game reserve arriving with a picnic lunch. The evening will be spent viewing wildlife on a migration tour of the park. At the river crossing points, witness the migration of the wildebeest. Topi, as well as zebra and gazelle will be seen streaming through heading to the masai Mara in Kenya on their annual trip as they find fresh grass and water. Other animals would be the predators that are following the action. These include Lion, cheetah, Hyena and jackals and many others. The evening will be spent at a Deluxe Mobile Camp close to the migrations for dinner and overnight in the Serengeti at Kirurumu Tented Camp.
Day 2:
Breakfast at camp and enjoy the morning at following the migration of the wildlife and see the other animals. These include; Cheetahs on hunts, Elephants, which are usually browsing off the higher acacia trees on the plains. The big Five in the area Include herds of the Cape buffalo which can be seen, numbering in the regions of hundreds. You may be lucky to spot the rare leopard and for the birds enthusiast, Tawny Eagle, Lesser Flamingo, Verreaux’s Eagle-Owl, Kori Bustard, Ostrich and the graceful Secretary Bird. Later,. transfer to your overnight accommodation in the Serengeti. Meals and overnight at the Kirurumu Tented Camp.
Day 3: End of Serengeti safari and back to Arusha
Morning breakfast and a final game drive in the Serengeti, before heading out on your return drive back to Arusha. You will stop along the way for a picnic lunch before arriving in the early evening for overnight at your Hotel in Arusha booked on a bed and breakfast basis, Mount Meru Hotel
Day 4:
Early morning departure from Arusha then transfer to the Namanga border crossing point to formalize the paperwork. Later, transfer through Nairobi in the early morning and proceed to the Masai Mara to catch the arriving migrations arriving from the Tanzanian side of the border. Have lunch en route to the park where the afternoon game viewing will commence along the river crossings on the Mara River. crocodile, Hippos and other wildlife will be arriving in large concentrations here. Dinner and overnight at the Ashnil Tented camp by the mara River.
Day 5: Masai Mara Game reserve Kenya
Early morning breakfast thereafter, start the morning game viewing safari on the Masai Mara plains. You will be spotting Elephants, Cheetah, Gazelle as well as thousands of migrating wildebeest from the Serengeti. The Zebras, Topi and Gazelles will also be moving alongside the Ungulates. The Lion prides of the mara are well stocked with enough food and alongside the hyenas. You will be able to witness hunts on your morning or evening game drives in the park. The afternoon in the heat, then return to your camp at Ashnil for lunch, and a dip in the swimming pool. Later, taking another evening game drive in the park to see more of what the Mara has to offer. Meals and overnight at the Ashnil Tented Camp in Masai mara.
Day 6:
Morning breakfast then have a morning game watching safari along the river to see more of the animals. See the elegant Masai Giraffe reach out for the higher branches on the morning feed. Meanwhile, see the Coke’s Hartebeest on the Savannah and Rock Hyraxes active in the mid morning on top of kopjes. Other animals to see in the Mara feature; Grant’s Gazelle, African Civet, Black Rhino, The Olive Baboon, The leopard, Dwarf Mongoose, Elephant and Jackal. Bat Eared Fox, The fastest animal on the African Savannah, the “Cheetah, Duikers, monitor lizard and Hippos are usually seen here. Later, check out and drive to Nairobi arriving in the early evening. Meals and overnight at the Hilton Nairobi Hotel.
Day 7: Return to Nairobi
Breakfast at the Hotel, before heading to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for the departure flight.
