Ngorongoro and Serengeti Tanzania Safari with Lake Manyara and Ndutu

Day 1:
The safari vehicle is ready for departure from your overnight accommodations in Arusha. Later, we start our Ngorongoro and Serengeti Tanzania safari. The short drive to the Lake Manyara gets us to the national park to arrive with a scenic game drive along the shores of Lake Manyara. We arrive to start the mid morning tour in our open topped safari truck. Then sightings of the pink flamingo greet us on our arrival at Lake Manyara.

Cape buffalo graze along the shores of the Lake, while claw less otter swim through the Lake to catch their favorite fish. Cheetah hunts are a lovely sight, as they outrun their prey. See Masai giraffe feeding peacefully on the African tree lined Savannah, while the olive baboons carrying their babies will be seen patrolling the dirt roads in the park. In the evening, you transfer to your overnight hotel in the Manyara for dinner and overnight at the Lake Manyara Serena Lodge or Hotel.

Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti

The morning after breakfast, we will spent our time game viewing on safari in lake Manyara. Lions, Cape Buffalo, Elephant, rare leopard may be seen, as well as the Rhino which are part of the big five animals to see on an African Safari. Afterwards, we will drive into the Serengeti to follow the migrations into the Ndutu area(January – March) or Central Serengeti in the other months. Depending on where the migrations are for the time of your safari, we will have an evening game viewing safari searching for calving wildebeest, hyenas attacks on the young calves, Lions hunting for the larger herbivores as well as Elephants and Zebra. After the wildlife viewing at dusk, we transfer to our overnight accommodations at the Ndutu Safari Lodge, Serengeti Serena or Sopa Lodge.

Day 3: Serengeti safari and birdwatching

We will have a Serengeti bird watching safari, as well as viewing the big Five on these plains. Birds seen on the plains include; Kori Bustard and the Ostrich, Secretary Bird, a beautiful bird that preys on snakes, Grey-Backed Fiscal shrikes, Superb Starling, Rufous-Tailed Weaver, Silver bird and the Montagu Harrier. Black-Shouldered Kite with its un mistakable call is usually seen on perches in the Serengeti, while the Hooded and Lappet-Faced Vultures are feed close to the kills of Lion or cheetah. Look out for the Tawny Eagles and the Crowned Lapwing. Zebra and wildebeest are plenty in the park and can be seen by the thousands. You will also have the evening on another viewing safari looking for Nile Crocodile, Hippo and Gazelle. Meals and overnight at Ndutu Safari Lodge, Serengeti Serena or Sopa Lodge.

Day 4:
The morning short safari after breakfast then departs from the Serengeti, viewing other animals which include: Wild Dog on the hunt, Water buck, Vervet Monkey, Patas Monkey, Oryx , Coke’s Hartebeest, Giraffe, Bush buck and the Bat-eared Fox. We then transfer into the Ngorongoro Crater. where a short visit to the Olduvai Gorge lets us meet the famous, fossils of first man, the “Nut Cracker”. We thereafter proceed to our lodge at the rim of the Caldera where the evening will be spent by the pool or lodge gardens enjoying the spectacular views of the Ngorongoro Crater. Meals and overnight at the Ngorongoro Serena or Sopa Lodge.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

Morning breakfast and transfer into the Ngorongoro Crater for the half day of safari. We will be looking out for Black Rhino, Spotted Hyena, Eland, Thomson’s gazelle, leopard, reed buck,Cape buffalo and jackals. Also, wild dogs, wildebeest, gazelles, cheetah, ostrich and pelicans, together with the flamingos on Lake magadi. Picnic lunches are served in the crater, as we watch the Hippos before returning in the evening to spend time at the lodge relaxing by the pool or spa. Dinner and overnight at the Ngorongoro Serena or Sopa Lodge.

Day 6:
The morning after breakfast, you finally transfer into Arusha to have the mid morning shopping. Later, end the Ngorongoro and Serengeti Tanzania adventure and transfer to the airport for the departure flight. End of our services.
