Ruaha safari tour, Mikumi National Park safari, 5 days
Day 1.
Morning start from Dar Es Salaam, on your Ruaha safari tour in the southern National parks of Tanzania. You then proceed through the Mikumi National park and head towards the Town of Iringa. A lunch break will be made along the way, before driving closer to the Ruaha National park. You stop at Iringa town in the evening to have your dinner and overnight at the Iringa Hotel.
Day 2. Tanzania Safari to Ruaha
Following an early breakfast, you start the early morning departure for the southern Tanzanian ruaha safari park and arrive into the Miombo wooded forests, intermixed with acacia and the Baobab trees. On arrival, you transfer to the Ruaha River Lodge, where you will have lunch, overlooking a beautiful the majestic river, where elephants love coming down for a drink. In the early evening, when the sun goes down, you will have a sun downer safari through the Miombo woodland where you may see Ostrich, Cape Buffalo, Sable, Roan Antelope, Lesser or Greater Kudu, Eland, Bat eared foxes, Blue Monkey and African hunting dogs. Return late in the evening for dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge.
Day 3.
After a morning breakfast, your safari guide will organize to have your picnic lunches then bottled water into the vehicle. Later, the whole day safari in the Ruaha, starts from the edge of the River Ruaha, we will be exploring the wildlife on the course of this 475 kilometre long River, which attracts, Monitor Lizard, Sacred Ibis, African Fin foot, Nile Crocodiles, Hippos and greater cormorants.
Forest safari Ruaha
The safari, continues into the lush forests where you may spot the rare bush pigs. Meanwhile, spotted Hyenas, stripped hyenas, Cape Buffalo and the large herds of African Elephants feed in the Baobab forests. The swampland attracts African fin foot and the soaring Martial eagles that swoop down on the careless vervet monkeys and Kirk’s Dik Dik. Look out for cheetah and the plains Lion on the hunts in this open Savannah grasslands, before heading to your overnight accommodation at the Ruaha River Lodge, for dinner and overnight.
Day 4.
Morning breakfast and departure through a morning game drive of the along the Ruaha river, the safari, following the River, heads out into the Kitonga town or other stopover point, where lunch is served. The long drive heads out to the Mikumi National park thereafter, you arrive for dinner and overnight at the Vuma Hill Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5.
Morning breakfast at your overnight accommodation then start the morning tour of Mikumi National park. Search the Miombo Woodlands to see herds of the Sable Antelope and the graceful Eland. Later on, search for signs of the Lion kills as you drive through the Impala territories of the park. The Giraffes are seen browsing the branches of the Acacia. Then at around noon, we have our lunch break at camp. Thereafter, taking a four hour return transfer to Dar Es salaam, arriving in the early evening.
