Tour of Zanzibar, 3 nights/4days The Slave Route.
Day 1
Start the tour of Zanzibar holiday with a mid morning or afternoon arrival at the Airport or Harbour. Met on arrival by the local Swahili guide and then transfer to your hotel in Stone Town. Meals and overnight at your hotel based on price level of choice.
Day 2
Morning breakfast, thereafter have a guided excursion of the old stone town with its array of old structures. Proceed to the local setting and visit the Kelele square in addition to the former slave trade market. Thousands of Africans were auctioned off in exchange for imported goods from the Arabs. You will visit the old dhow Harbor and could check out the construction of these impressive long haul boats. In the early evening, sail by boat to the Prison Island and have the evening visiting the ruins of this detention center. Later, return to your overnight hotel in Zanzibar Stone town for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 Old town
Morning breakfast and head to the Manapwanu villages through the Maruhubi ancient palace. You will have a guided tour of these ruins that once hosted the leaders of Zanzibar. You will then have a tour of Zanzibar to the Slave Markets and detention chambers and have the evening relaxing by the Beach of the Indian Ocean. In the late evening, you will have a leisurely drive back to stone town arriving for dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 4
Following a relaxed breakfast, the short transfer to the airport, finally ending your Zanzibar safari.
