Gorilla Safari Lodge
The gorilla safari lodge is a rustic accommodation located close to the park at Rushaaga. Mountain gorilla trips to the base of the Mountain gorilla forest commence close by.
The camp is accessible to the southern Bwindi gorilla groups which include the Nshongi gorilla group. The southern tourism sector of Bwindi featuring the Rushaga gorilla groups. Guests can trek other gorilla groups in the area using Gorilla Safari Lodge as the starting point.
Accommodation is based on chalets made out of wire mesh ans sand plaster. Rooms come with en-suite washrooms supplied with hot showers and flush loos.
The annex Lodge room comprises of a dinning area, with a bar. Drinks served next to the impenetrable forest.
Gorilla trekking options at Gorilla Safari Lodge:
3 DAY MOUNTAIN GORILLA SAFARI PROGRAM:
Day one: Arrive Entebbe and proceed on a morning drive to Mbarara for an early lunch. Later, travel to through Lake Bunyonyi and head to the lodge by evening. Dinner served at the lodge and thereafter, overnight at Gorilla Safari Lodge. Meal plan: Lunch in Mbarara then dinner at the gorilla lodge.
Day two: Morning breakfast, then the gorilla lodge staff assist with a short walk to the gorilla briefing site. Later on, in company of other trekkers, begin the day’s gorilla trekking safari in the impenetrable forest. Gorilla trail leads to a family of Mountain gorillas moving through the Jungle. Viewing the gorillas take 60 minutes before the return hike back to camp. Afternoon relax at the gorilla safari lodge or visit the Batwa tribesmen. Dinner and overnight at the Gorilla Safari Lodge Nshongi. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, as well as dinner.
Day Three: Early breakfast and immediate departure to Kabale through the Mountains. See terraced farmlands of potatoes and the Ankole long horns then return to Kampala. Alternatively, visit the Uganda Equator before taking the bypass to Entebbe International airport. Check in for departure flight.
