2 Days Lake Mburo National park Safari
Day one: Morning start from Kampala or Entebbe, then in a private safari vehicle with your safari guide travel to Lake Mburo. Thereafter, transfer through the African drum makers stalls and have a stop at the Uganda Equator for pictures. Later, proceed to Lake Mburo National park for a mid morning 2 Days Lake Mburo safari with sightings of the bare faced go away bird, Vervet monkeys, Topi and the stripped Burchell’s Zebra which are usually seen grazing alongside the Impala.
The different rocky outcrops in the background of the park offer some good sightings of the hyraxes. With luck on your game drive, you may spot Hyena, otherwise leopard. Lookout for the rare reedbuck and on a game drive along the shores of the Lake, you may spot the Hippos grazing in the shrubs. Birdwatchers to Lake Mburo will most probably be looking out for the papyrus gonolek, African fin foot, bare faced go away bird and the African Fish Eagle. After lunch, you meanwhile drive to the observation post near the park head quarters to see animals at the natural salt lick. Later, proceed to your overnight accommodation at the Lake Mburo Safari Lodge other options: Rwonyo Tented camp, similarly bandas, Mihingo Lodge on the other hand Mantana Lake Mburo Tented Camp.
Day Two: Lake Mburo walking safari
An early morning wake up with coffee or Tea then transfer to the starting point for the morning walking safari. A ranger guide from the Uganda Wildlife Authority will begin an easy guided trek through the Savannah grasslands tracking animals. You will probably transit through the Hyena’s Den with a chance of catching them still in their holes, the walk then traverses the park with sightings of more Zebra at the waterhole in the marshes and the occasional Eland, Topi, Warthog and Bush buck are usually seen on this walk. Many more bird species including the Hadada Ibises as well as the cattle egrets riding on top of the Cape buffalo backs may also be seen. Later on, return to the Lodge for breakfast before heading back to Kampala or Entebbe.
