5 DAYS NILE RIVER RAFTING AND GORILLA TREKKING SAFARI IN UGANDA
Day one:
The rafting and gorilla safari of Uganda begins with arrival at Entebbe airport. Our representative then transfers to Kampala on a two hour transit to begin the rafting and gorilla tour of Uganda. Drive close to the shores of Lake Victoria, the second largest inland Lake in the World. Later on, proceed into Kampala and transfer to the Kampala Serena Hotel. Alternatively, at a mid level accommodation in the center of town. Meals are not included this day.

TRANSIT TIME 4-5 HOURS.
Day Two:
Morning breakfast at the Hotel, before the guide picking up the rafting party by around 07:00 in the morning. Later, we start our 5 day gorilla and rafting trip by driving eastwards through the towns of Kireka. Past the Mabira forests and proceed to the edge of the Nile where the white water rafting starts. You will be given a short introduction about the rafting trip, including safety measures to take in case of a flip. After dressing up in float jackets, helmets and receiving your paddle.
Thereafter, start the day’s white water rafting trip on the River Nile. This is a downstream trip that goes through some 3 grade rapids, which graduate into the huge grade 5 rapids on the 15miles stretch of the Nile. We will stop at a lunch point along the way, to have a buffet lunch, later; the final rafting stretch ends with refreshing drinks of soda, bottled water, beers etc, before boarding your vehicle for the return transfer to Kampala. You will be dropped off at your overnight accommodations for overnight at the Kampala Serena Hotel or at a mid level property.
Day Three:
Morning breakfast and transfer through the towns of Busega and the Mpanga forests, seeing farmlands and the local farmers tending to their coffee and Matooke(banana) plantations, later, proceed to the equator to take pictures at the spot that divides the earth into 2 equal parts. From here, proceed through Sanga, where you may spot the long horned cattle of Ankole, and if lucky, you may see the Zebra and Impala by the roadside, straying from Lake Mburo National park. Transfer to Mbarara for lunch at the Motel Agip before heading through the Queen Elizabeth National park on the way to the Bwindi gorilla national park. You may see Elephants and Topi as well as other animals, before arriving in the early evening for dinner and overnight at the Gorilla Resort Bwindi Camp.
TRANSIT TIME 6 – 7 HOURS
Day Four:
Morning breakfast and transfer to the park briefing site where the guides and tourism officials will conduct a gorilla briefing before the gorilla trekking safari of Bwindi starts at Buhoma. The trekking will most likely, be determined by the pace of the slowest person and this ends when the trackers spot the mountain gorillas and direct the trekking party to the area. You will be viewing the gorillas as close as 3 feet and you are entitled to an hour of viewing before the gorilla trek ends. From a short distance away from the gorillas, we will have a picnic lunch and drinks in the Impenetrable forest, before heading to the transfer vehicles for the return journey to the overnight accommodations. Thereafter,dinner and overnight at the gorilla camp in Bwindi. .
GORILLA TREKKING TIME 5 MINUTES – TO AVERAGE OF 4 HOURS
Day Five:
Either take a scheduled flight from Bwindi to Entebbe at an extra fee, departing at 10:00am arriving after about an hour, or have a full day driving out of Bwindi to Entebbe airport with a picnic lunch, to arrive around 5pm.
TRANSIT TIME 1.30MINUTES or about 10 HOURS
