TANZANIA SAFARI GORILLA TREKKING IN RWANDA
Day one: Arrival in Kilimanjaro then transfer to your overnight accommodation in Arusha. Your driver guide will give you a Tanzania safari gorilla trek combined tour briefing on the next day’s activity. Thereafter, have the overnight at Luxury, Mid range or budget accommodation Lodge or camp in Arusha. Meal plan: No Meals this day.
Day Two: After breakfast, your safari guide in a private 4×4 safari Land cruiser jeep will waiting at the Hotel. Thereafter, begin the Tanzania Safari Gorilla trekking tour to Rwanda by taking a 2 hour road transfer to Tarangire National park. Arrive in the early afternoon for lunch and an enroute game viewing tour through the several tracks. Animals in this unique national park include; Ostrich, Elephant, Cheetah, Zebra and wildebeest. Eventually, the game viewing ends in the evening through the retreating wildlife and views of the golden sunset. Have dinner and overnight at your overnight accommodation in a Luxury Lodge. Mid range tented camp or Mobile camping accommodation at Tarangire.
Day Three: Tarangire – Ngorongoro
After breakfast, a morning drive through herds of Elephants sees us leaving the Tarangire National park. Look out for Gazelle and the Ashy starings on the morning game drive. Later, leave the baobab section and the drive to the Crater of the Ngorongoro arriving in the early evening. Spend some time relaxing either by the pool, or spending time at the lodge enjoying the vistas of the Crater. Meals and accommodations at the Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge of choice, Mid range property or at a budget friendly camping option.
Day Four: Ngorongoro Crater to the Serengeti plains
Breakfast early then begin a steep descent in the crater for a half day game viewing. On the Ngorongoro crater floor, wildlife viewing is concentrated at the edge of the Lake. At the marshy flood plains near the Crater Lake, most animals seen here. These include the rare Black rhino, Elephant, Hyena, warthog, Cape buffalo, Lion and flocks of the flamingos. Other bird life in the Ngorongoro include species as the Secretary bird, Pink backed Pelicans and glossy Ibis. Kori Bustard, martial Eagle and many others.
Black faced vervet Monkeys as well as Olive baboons are spotted on the game drive. After a picnic lunch in the park, a 3 hour transfer to the Serengeti game reserve. Catch the migrations at sunset before heading to your overnight accommodations for dinner and overnight at a top Safari Lodge. Alternatively, stay at aTented Camp, mid range accommodations or mobile camping safari option in the Serengeti plains.
Day Five: Safari in Serengeti
After breakfast on the plains of the Serengeti, your safari guide begins the morning big five safari. Lookout for large prides of lions as well as cheetahs hunting wildebeest and feeding in the numerous acacia trees. Cheetahs have a tendency of taking shelter on safari vehicle shade in the scorching sun. Temperatures soar into the 40 degrees! Other animals on the morning safari include countless zebra, Topis, Wildebeest in their thousands making grunting noises. Gazelle, Impala, Leopard and the Nile crocodiles on the northern parts of the Serengeti. Later on in the evening, after a lunch break at your accommodations, have a sunset game drive to see more of the animals of the park. These include the rare rock hyraxes, while bird life includes; helmeted guinea fowl, Ostrich. Others are the freckled night jar, pennant winged nigh jars, Black bellied bustard and many others.
Day Six: Another full day in the Serengeti
Morning breakfast and another safari of the Serengeti starts through Acacia trees and sections of the sausage and baobab trees. Giraffes are approachable by the safari vehicles and usually browse off the umbrella acacia trees and the shield their young from the Lions. Elephants grazing and browse through the Yellow fever trees and the Savannah grasslands dotted with the euphorbia candelabra trees. The hyenas, together with the silver backed jackals scavenge off lion and cheetah kills. Hippos will be observed at the pool splashing about while the rhinos graze on the grassland. In the evening, return to your overnight accommodations for dinner and overnight at a safari lodge or camp of choice.
Day Seven: Lake manyara safari
Breakfast, then depart for the Lake Manyara National park. Dotted with fig trees and large Mahogany trees, it is possible to spot the tree climbing Lions in the mid morning sun. Lions escape the intruding insects from the grass, you will see Zebra, Wildebeest, klipspringer and did-dik. The Lake attracts flocks of flamingo and other bird-life which includes; superb starling, grey backed fiscal, marabou stork, Red bishop, bateleur eagle and many others. Later on, return for dinner and overnight. Options, Luxury safari lodge option, mid range hotel or basic accommodations or mobile camping.
Day Eight: Transfer to Rwanda for Gorilla trekking experience
Morning transfer to the Kilimanjaro airport after breakfast and then, take the regional flight to Rwanda. Leave the Tanzania safari gorilla tour and be met on arrival and transfer to the Hotel gorillas mid range option, Kigali Serena for the Luxury option or the Chez Lando for the more budget friendly accommodation.
Day Nine: Morning breakfast and transfer to the Mountain base through the scenic winding road dotted with local homesteads of the local Rwandans before arriving at Kinigi or Musanze for overnight at the Silver back Lodge, Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, La Palme or the Hotel Muhabura.
Day Ten: Mountain gorilla trekking Rwanda
After breakfast, the gorilla trekking party gathers at the briefing point close to the park headquarters. Thereafter, the briefing would commence on how one is expected to conduct themselves in the presence of the Mountain Gorillas. Later, the gorilla trekking party led by a guide and trackers begins the short walk to the edge of the park and the tracking of the gorilla group begins. Later, an hour of viewing and taking pictures of the gorilla family of the silver back, juveniles, black backs and other family members will end with a return to the overnight accommodations for meals and overnight at the accommodations of choice.
Day Eleven: Breakfast, then transfer to Kigali on a two hour road transit for the departure flight out of Rwanda.
