Migrations Tanzania Serengeti Safari Uganda gorilla trekking and chimpanzees – 13 days
Day one:
Arrive into Tanzania to start the Serengeti safari Uganda gorilla trekking trip. Met on arrival at the Kilimanjaro airport, the safari guide transfers to the Arusha Coffee Lodge for dinner and overnight. The evening is spent enjoying the serene environment of coffee plantations, then enjoy the locally brewed coffee at the Lodge.

Day Two: Uganda Tanzania safaris to Serengeti
Morning pick up from your hotel and board your safari cruisers en route to the Ngorongoro craters. We arrive for a morning excursion around the crater rim of the Ngorongoro crater. Visitors have a short trek to see the local tribesmen that inhabit part of the craters. After lunch at the lodge, we descend into the Craters and have the entire afternoon on safari, watching Rhinos and flamingos. Cape buffalo, Hyena, wildebeest and the other big five safari wildlife of Africa. In the evening, drive back up to the lodge on the rim arriving for dinner and overnight. Options are at the Ngorongoro Crater’s Sopa or Serena Lodges.

Day Three: Tanzania holiday in Serengeti
Morning transfer after breakfast to the migrations area where the Big Five animals will be trekking in organized groups on the annual migration between Tanzania and Kenya. The game viewing safari will be in the Serengeti plains as we follow the millions of wildebeest that will be following the feeding patterns in search of fresh grazing land. After lunch at your preferred Serengeti safari accommodation, have an evening wildlife viewing safari to catch some of the evening hunting sessions. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at the Lodge closest to the migrations.

Day Four: Serengeti safari
Breakfast early before a morning safari starting on the game viewing tracks of the Serengeti. You will be looking out at the kopjes for signs of Cheetah. The lions too are usually seen hunting in the morning hours, while the vultures in the trees would be a signal that there has been a kill. You will see Cape Buffalo, Water-buck, Gazelle and possibly Leopard on the morning game viewing safari. The migrating wildebeests, as well as the Zebras and Topis can be seen grazing side by side. Depending on the season, it may also be possible to witness the calving of the young wildebeest in the southern Serengeti on a Tanzania safari to Ndutu. Have another evening game drive before dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Sopa, Serengeti Serena or Ndutu Lodge.
All day activities on safari.
Day Five:
Breakfast at the Lodge in the Serengeti, later, proceed to the famous Lake Manyara where tree climbing lions are seen in the trees. It is also possible to see the African rock pythons feeding on gazelle up in the trees. Enjoy the Lake Manyara bird life of thousands of flamingos before dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Lodge or safari Tented camp of choice .

Day Six: Uganda Adventure Safari
This would be the last day on the migrations safari in Tanzania before starting the trip into Uganda. Starts with a morning game drive in the Lake Manyara national park. On the morning safari of Lake Manyara, expect to see troops of Olive baboons, Cape buffalo herds on the plains and along the solitary ones at the edge of the Lake, Migrating wildebeest columns with the Zebra, giraffe feeding in the acacia trees and klipspringers cooling themselves on the rocky outcrops. Later, return for an early lunch before checking out and transfer to Arusha. Evening at the hotel, before dinner and overnight at the Arusha Coffee Lodge.
Day Seven: Morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Entebbe airport in Uganda. You fly to Entebbe airport on a regional 1-2 hour flight where you are met on arrival and transfer to the Lake Victoria Serena, booked on a bed and breakfast basis. Evening spent relaxing at the swimming pool, at the spa or enjoying the gardens of the hotel
Day Eight: Gorilla Tracking in Uganda
Morning breakfast at the Hotel and later, transfer to Fort portal for an African buffet lunch. Later, the drive through African homesteads and tea plantations ends at the edge of the Kibale Forest National park on the top of a crater Lake. Arrive for an evening refreshing swim before dinner and overnight at the Ndali Lodge.
Day Nine:
The chimpanzee safari at Kibale starts after breakfast and briefing by the ranger guides. Later, on marked paths in the chimpanzee forest, the trekking starts from Kanyanchu visitor center. The chimpanzee trackers would be looking for signs of the Chimpanzee family, feeding high in the trees on fruits. They are usually seen at fruiting fig trees making pant hooting noises due to excitement. On the chimp trekking safari, you may also see red colobus, red tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys the olive baboons. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge

Day Ten:
Morning breakfast then transfer through the town of Kasese near the Queen Elizabeth National Park. On a clear day, you are able to see the peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains of the moon You drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park, seeing Uganda Kob, Cape Buffalo, Topi, Elephant and possibly the tree climbing lions lying in the fig trees close to the main road. Have your picnic lunch in the park before driving through the towns of Kihiihi, Kanyantorogo and Butogota trading center before heading to the Bwindi Impenetrable National park. Welcome drinks, dinner and overnight at the Gorilla’s Resort Camp.
Day Eleven: Gorilla trekking
Morning breakfast at the lodge then drive to the briefing spot, where the other gorilla safari participants would be meeting to receive instructions on Gorilla trekking. Later, with a group of 8 visitors per gorilla group, start the day’s gorilla trekking in the Bwindi impenetrable forest with the ranger guides and porters.
The gorilla trackers ahead, will find the gorillas and will lead the tracking party to the area where the gorillas will be feeding. Using machetes, sticks or hands, the gorilla guide will be shoving away vegetation to afford better views of the gorillas as they move about feeding on leaves and shoots of plants. The mountain gorillas will be photographed for about an hour and later, the trekking team will have a picnic lunch and drinks in the forest before heading back to base for the evening. Have dinner at the camp and later, transfer to your accommodations for overnight.
Day Twelve:
Morning breakfast then depart through one of Uganda’s densely populated areas called Kigezi. The lush mountains, are terraced all the way up to the hilltops by the Bakiga inhabitants who grow potatoes and maize. With a picnic lunch from the gorilla safari camp, transfer through the Central Uganda Kingdom of Ankole and see the long horned Ankole cows grazing on the savannah hillside. Later, drive through Masaka and stop by at the Uganda Equator where the centrifugal and centripetal forces of make you weigh 3% lighter. You may want to buy a souvenir at the craft centre here before proceeding to Kampala to arrive for overnight at the Lake Victoria Serena Resort.
Day Thirteen:
Breakfast at the Hotel before your safari guide takes you to the airport for the departure flight in Entebbe.
