Queen Elizabeth park fly in Safari 4 Days 3 Nights tour:

The following Queen Elizabeth park fly in safari utilizes scheduled flights to cut down on driving.  The tour features 2 nights at Ishasha to see Hippos and tree climbing lions. 2 nights at the Northern parts of the park to explore the Kazinga channel boat cruise. You will see Wildlife on the Kasenyi tracks before flying back from the Kasese Airstrip.

Detailed program:

Day one:             Morning check in at the airport in Entebbe then start the Queen Elizabeth park fly in Safari. Transfer to your waiting Aerolink flight that departs over the Ssese Islands skies and through central Uganda.  Also enjoy views enroute to the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains towards the edge of Lake Edward. The one hour flight lands at the Kihiihi Airfield thereafter, your Travelust African Safaris guide picks up and provides the transfer.

Through the little villages of the indigenous Bachiga to the Queen Elizabeth National park, you arrive for a mid morning game drive. Scanning the huge fig trees for signs of tree climbing Lions, Uganda Kob harems with the dominant males keeping guard in full territorial charisma. You will later transfer to your accommodations for lunch and check in before spending time at the waterhole. Enjoy the Hippos and the Elephants taking a drink from the river Ntungwe. Have another evening game drive in the National park before dinner and overnight at the Ishasha Wilderness Camp. (video clip)

Day Two:            Ishasha game viewing

Morning breakfast and checkout of the Lodge before beginning another morning drive in the park. Look out for Water buck, Cape buffalo, the elegant Topi and the occasional warthog on the plains of Ishasha. The route through the park may yield other wildlife by the roadside which includes; Olive Baboon troops with their young, Red tailed monkeys, Black and white colubus monkeys. Some Elephant bulls crossing the park to find water and browse on the acacia trees are also seen.

Proceed to the edge of escarpment where you arrive in time for lunch at the Katara Lodge. Some time can be spent at the swimming pool before the afternoon trekking activity. Later, your guide will transfer you to the Chambura gorge where the afternoon chimpanzee trekking in the gorge is conducted by the Uganda wildlife Authority guides to find the troop of chimps. Later, you will return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight at the Katara Lodge.

Day Three:         Kazinga channel wildlife viewing cruise

Early morning breakfast then transfer to the game viewing sections of the Queen Elizabeth Park. Past the Queen Mile into the craters, begin the morning wildlife viewing of the predator cats on their hunts at dawn in the Kasenyi area. Lion prides numbering in the region of 15 to twenty are usually seen feeding on the Uganda Kob, Cape buffalo or the Bush buck. Look out for Elephant herds transiting from the craters to the drinking points on the Kazinga channel. Led by the Matriarch, the day warms up with single file lines of these animals.

The Giant forest hogs emerge from the thickets around the channel, then head to the water for a drink. With luck, you may spot a kill by the elusive leopard in the Euphorbia trees nearby. After your picnic lunch or hot lunch at the lodge, you then transfer to the Jetty where the guided boat cruise gets as close as a few metres to the big game. Elephants, Cape buffalo, Water buck, crocodiles and bird-life will be seen from the comfort of the launch. In the evening, you thereafter, return to your accommodations arriving for dinner, evening swim and overnight at the Katara Lodge.

Day Four:            Breakfast early then transfer to the Airfield for the return flight to Entebbe. Departing at around 10:10 arriving at the airport around 11:25 am.
