GORILLA TREKKING SAFARI UGANDA, 2 TREKS  TOUR

Day one:
Either, starting from Entebbe or Kampala. The 2 day gorilla trekking safari Uganda program sets off through the lush countryside of Uganda. We would stop by the Uganda Equator for a break before heading to Mbarara to arrive for lunch at the Motel Agip or Igongo Cultural Center. Our gorilla trekking safari tour begins through the Mountains, then heads down to the Impenetrable forests of Bwindi. Home to the Mountain gorillas where we later on arrive for dinner and overnight at the Gorilla Resort Bwindi. The following morning would ultimately be the day of the trekking.

Day Two:  First Day of Gorilla trekking

The first day of the double gorilla trek starts with a briefing by the gorilla guides. Later on, the gorilla trekking party in a group of 8 starts from Buhoma en route to one of the gorilla families. The arduous walking is through some challenging terrain that finally ends with the family of the Mountain gorillas with their dominant Silver back. The picnic lunches are served in the jungle before a short drive back to the Mountain Gorilla Camp where dinner and overnight will be at the Gorilla Resort.

Day Three:  Second day of gorilla trekking
The two gorilla treks would mean starting early today. After breakfast, we thereafter, transfer to a different gorilla group to maximize the chances of gorilla trekking safari Uganda experience and photo opportunities. Trekking through the mountains, at higher altitudes, the 2 day gorilla sighting then ends with an hour of interacting with these gentle Apes. A picnic lunch and drinks will be served in the park, then the Uganda wildlife personnel will lead everyone back to base. Meals and overnight at the Gorilla Resort.

Day FOUR: Uganda Tour to Lake Mburo

Breakfast at the gorilla sanctuary and later, transfer to Mbarara for your picnic lunch. The Safari to the Lake Mburo National Park starts with a game drive on the Zebra Tracks and the Lake in search of Hippo and crocodile by along the shores. Giraffes have recently been introduced at Lake Mburo and presently feed gracefully alongside Zebras. Look out for the largest Antelope in Africa, the Eland. Large herds can easily number to over one hundred of these shy herbivores. Later on in the evening, transfer to the Lake Mburo Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Five:
Morning safari of Lake Mburo starts right from the lodge which attracts Zebras. Have the whole morning in the park looking for the plains game. Wildlife here includes; Eland, Topi, Leopard, Hyena, Cape Buffalo, Topi, Hyraxes and Bohor reed buck. Have lunch at the lodge then depart for Kampala or Entebbe to catch the evening flight out

Gorilla trekking trip information:

  • We recommend taking breaks along the hike to acclimatize before proceeding on the tour.
