2 Day Queen Elizabeth National Park safari
Day One: Begin the Queen Elizabeth National park safari at 06:00am. Morning departure out of Kampala then transfer to the Uganda Equator at Kayabwe. Have a brief stop to stretch your legs and take pictures. Later, transfer through Mbarara then take pictures of the unique cows with their abnormally long horns. The tour journeys through a section of crater lakes of Bunyaruguru before heading through Acacia and Euphorbia trees. Arrive with an early afternoon game drive along the channel track then see the Giant Forest Hogs. Uganda Kob, Bushbuck and probably the elephants or Cape buffalo taking a drink at the Kazinga Channel. Have lunch at the lodge then relax by the pool, enjoy vistas of the Rwenzori Mountains and the Congo.
Later, take the afternoon boat safari through the marshes of the Kazinga as you lookout for Malachite Kingfisher. Black Crake, African Jacana, Monitor Lizard, Egyptian goose, Pink backed Pelican and other water birds. You may also spot crocodile, African Elephants and Cape Buffalo. Hippos and other wildlife come down to the waterhole for a drink. Fishing parties of community members can also be seen casting their nets from their dugout canoes. Heading back to the fishing village of Kazinga, a breeding colony of migrant birds congregate in large numbers. In the evening, take a short evening game drive through the Leopard Loop. With luck, see one of the most elusive cats on an African Safari. Dinner then overnight at the Ihamba Safari Lodge.
Day Two: Morning safari at Queen Elizabeth National park
Morning wakeup call then comence a morning wildlife safari to the northerly areas in the Queen Elizabeth National park. The slow drive on the royal mile stops for pictures of the Elephants and spotted Hyena. Warthog, Deffassa Water buck and some colorful birds like the black headed gonolek and the long crested eagle. Later on, proceed towards Kasenyi and enjoy a morning wildlife experience in the Kob mating grounds. Animal carcasses with vultures, birds of prey circle around in the sky. Lion prides lurking in the thickets enjoying the catch of buffalo or the unfortunate Uganda Kob. After the morning game drive, your guide will drive you back to the Hotel for breakfast then check out before heading to Kampala. Arrive in the early evening, finally marking the end of your 2 day Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari.
