MOUNT KENYA TREKKING SAFARI, SAMBURU AND SWEETWATERS – 8 DAY, 7 NIGHTS TOUR
Day 1: Morning Pick up on arrival for the Mount Kenya trekking safari then transfer to Nairobi. Assisted check in at your pre safari Hotel by the staff. The evening may be spent at the spa or by the pool at your overnight Nairobi Hotel. Overnight at the Nairobi Hilton Hotel booked on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: After a morning breakfast, begin your safari towards the northern region, into the Mount Kenya environs. With the Mt. Kenya peaks in the back ground, you arrive for a lunch at the Lodge. Meanwhile, have the evening watching the wildlife from the privacy of your Balcony in this tree lodge. From a hide, animals emerge from the forest to feed at the private waterholes or salt licks. Day 3: Kenya Safari to Samburu
Breakfast, early before heading into the the semi-arid area called the Samburu. The safari in Sambru features a story of a lioness which adopted a baby Oryx, following the killing of its mother. We return for lunch after a morning wildlife safari in the Samburu area and after relaxing through the afternoon heat, have another safari drive on the plains for more game viewing in search of the rare species of game among them the Gerenuks and the Beisa Oryx. Meals and overnight at the Samburu Serena. BLD
Day 4 – 5: Samburu safari and other Kenya Tours
The full days spent on Samburu safari exploring the area including the Buffalo Springs Reserve. Rare species of animals include the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, funny looking gerenuk which feeds off the higher shrub leaves by standing upright, Somali ostrich, handsome Oryx and the semi desert Lions that prowl the water sources. Meals and then the overnight at the Samburu Serena. BLD
Day 6: After breakfast, return to the Mount Kenya trekking base then Sweetwaters for lunch. A colony of orphaned chimps lives on this sanctuary, and the visit to see the only place in Kenya, where chimps can be seen is right here! Later, have a an sun set game viewing tour of Ol Pejeta Conservation area in search of lion, water buck, Rhino, leopard, cape buffalo and elephant. Meals and overnight at Serena Sweetwaters Tented Camp. BLD
Day 7: Morning breakfast, then a game viewing safari in the park. You will see Grevy’s zebra, Lions, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Lion, spotted Hyena then cheetah. The other wildlife would be seen from the comfort of your tented camp balcony at Sweet waters. In between, you may have a swim by the pool, or do a night game drive to see the nocturnal safari game by the water hole where all the big five animals come for a drink. Meals then overnight at Serena Sweetwaters Tented Camp. BLD
Day 8: Morning game viewing in the park and later, depart from Sweet waters, arriving in Nairobi for the onward connections at the airport. end of services.
