3 Days Amboseli Safari Kenya tour
Day 1 Nairobi to Amboseli
From Nairobi, start the Amboseli Safari Kenya tour. Proceed to the foot of snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. The road leads to the Tanzania Border at Namanga before branching south through some lovely Savannah vegetation. Arrive in time for lunch before and afternoon game drive in search of Zebra, Grant’s Gazelle, Elephant and other wildlife.
Amboseli National park famous for large herds of Elephants introduces game viewing in the Marshes. Later on in the evening, enjoy a bird watching and safari drive in search of Hippo and spotted Hyenas. Long columns of wildebeest trekking to the Marshes stream past in the hundreds.
Later, the day’s safari ends with a return to your lodge for dinner and overnight at a Amboseli Serena lodge/Sopa Lodge/Tortilis Safari Camp/Oltukai or Porini Camp. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, Transit time: 4 hours.
Day 2 Amboseli Safari Kenya
Morning breakfast at the safari lodge or Tented camp near Amboseli. Thereafter, start the morning game drive in the Marshes. Lion prides, Spotted Hyenas alongside Jackals start hunting at sunrise. See cheetah hunt Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelle on the Savannah plains. Masai giraffe graze gracefully on the thorns of acacia. Cattle egrets on Elephant and Hippo backs pick off ticks and other insects. Bird watching on the trail yields; Superb starling, African grey Heron, crowned crane and saddle billed stork.
Amboseli evening game drive
In the meantime, return to the lodge for lunch and relax by the pool till evening. Later, look out for jackal on the plains, as well as black faced vervet monkeys and Olive Baboon. Afterwards, an evening return drive for sunset views of the retiring wildlife before heading back to the safari lodgings. Evening entertainment by the masai and later, dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge of choice. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 3 Nairobi
Early morning game drive before breakfast in the Marshes. Look for flamingoes, Oryx, as well as Bohor reedback. Birds on the Marshes include: Spurwinged plover, African Jacana and African Fish Eagle. After the morning breakfast, eventually begin an enroute game drive through Masai land with wild donkeys. Either transfer back to Nairobi city centre, or proceed to the Airport for the evening departure flight.

Safari Information about Amboseli:
Amboseli is situated at the Tanzania Border west of the Kilimanjaro Mountain and was established as a Game reserve in 1968 finally becoming a National park in 1974. Safaris to Amboseli National park also feature tours to the communal ranches owned by the local tribesmen that live in the vicinity of the park.
The Amboseli National park comprises of Savannah grasslands dotted with acacia trees and the thorny scrub. Parts of this national park also have swamps and marshes that act as water holes and hunting areas for the Lions and the other big cats.
The climate of the Amboseli is characterized by high temperatures averaging between 30 degrees Celsius. If taking a safari to the Amboseli, for this reason, consider avoiding the wet seasons. These are between the months of April to November and early December.
