KILIMANJARO CLIMB TANZANIA TOUR THROUGH THE MARANGU ROUTE, 5 DAYS.
Day 1.
Our Kilimanjaro Climb Tanzania’s expedition starts with a transfer to the Marangu gate where the altitude to gain this day is between 1700metres to the Mandara hut at 2740 metres above sea level. Trekking the mount Kilimanjaro with our porters, guides and the climbing party, we walk through moss vegetation as well as through some alpine forests before arriving for lunch at the Mandara hut. Should the climbing party wish, there is a possibility of doing a side trek to the Maundi Crater where you would be able to see the distant Kibo peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro and opposite areas on northern Tanzania. The mountain chef then prepares a side trip to Maundi Crater a vantage point to the views of the Northern part of Tanzania. .
Day 2.
Morning breakfast provided by the support staff and later, climb from the Mandara hut at an altitude of 2,740metre. Then ascend to the Next hut the Horombo hut at 3,700m starts as early as 08:00 am where the Five to six hours on a 15 kilometer stretch through the rain forest sector gets us climbing through sections of heath and Giant Lobelias trekking on the clear moorlands enroute to the Horombo area. On good weather days, this stretch provides very clear views of the Mount Kibo and the Mawenzi peaks. We check into the Horombo Hut in the early afternoon and then have enough time for acclimatization. Meals and overnight at the Horombo Hut. (2740 meters).
Day 3. Final hut on ascent
Morning breakfast and start the elevation of about 1,00 metres from the Horombo Hut 3700m to the Kibo Hut 4700m. This is an approximate climb from 12,100 feet to 15,400 feet.We ascend through the last water points climbing through the heath and groundsels across the Kibo and Mawenzi saddles of the Mountain. The vegetation thins out as we climb towards the peaks and only rocky outcrops will be seen. Your mountain guides and cook will prepare an early dinner before the short night which ends towards midnight as you overnight at the Kibo hut. (4700 meters).
Day 4 Kilimanjaro peak climbing
Your Mountain guide will give a wake up call with any of your preference of either hot chocolate, tea or coffee with snacks. Later, prepare the climbing gear and have the porters load up for the final ascent to the highest point in Africa The morning walk gets everyone warmed up before starting the climb towards the glaciers towards Gilman’s point where the early morning sunrise offers a glimpse of the beautiful Uhuru peaks.
The highest point in Africa is the next stop as you ascend to the Uhuru Peaks arriving at 19,340 feet above sea level. On this walk, you will require a flash light, snow goggles or sun glasses, not forgetting to carry warm clothing due to the freezing conditions. You will have some time to take pictures at the Uhuru peaks before starting the descent to Kibo hut where breakfast will be ready. The descent continues to the Horombo hut where you have your meals and overnight.
Day 5: Descend and out
Thereafter, breakfast and commence your descent from the Horombo hut for the final leg of the trip. Then descend all the way down through the moorland, Giant Lobelia and forested glades where monkeys and birds frequent. The climb finally ends with arrival at Marangu park offices. Pick up by your safari vehicle and then dropped off in Moshi or Arusha.
