Kenya Lion Safari Africa, Samburu, Nakuru, Mara and Tsavo

Day 1: Samburu National Reserve.
Start the Samburu Kenya lion safari with a morning Departure out of Nairobi. Thereafter, drive through farmlands with great views of Mt. Kenya. The arrival in Samburu is in time for lunch at the Lodge before an afternoon game viewing safari. This park is famous for species hardly found elsewhere. You will most likely see the reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx,Grevy’s Zebra, Gerenuk, Somali Ostrich, Vulturine Guinea fowls and elephants. Other game include; Leopard, cheetah, Lion, cape Buffalo among others. Eventually, return for dinner and overnight at a Safari Lodge of your choice of a luxury camp.

Day 2: Samburu Kenya Safari
The full day is spent on safari in the Samburu area admiring the beauty of the park. The Lions are usually active in the early morning and late in the evenings when their hunts begin. You will have a morning and afternoon safari, then may include a visit to the Samburu tribesmen. All meals and overnight at the Safari Lodge of your choice or private tented camp.

Day 3: Sweetwaters Game Reserve and Chimpanzee Sanctuary.
Early morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve. Breakfast at Lodge and depart for Sweetwaters Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Sweetwaters is at the slopes of Mt Kenya overlooks a floodlit waterhole. Offering visitors an unforgettable opportunity of viewing and shooting pictures of animals in their natural habitat. Optional walking safari escorted by a knowledgeable Ranger guide. Bird-walks, Camel safaris, Chimpanzee observed from a Boat on the Ewaso Nyiro River supports other wild game. Later on,  see Elephants, Buffalo, Baboon, Eland, Silver-backed Jackals, Ostrich, Rhino among others. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Tented Camp.

Day 4: Treetops Kenya experience

Following an early breakfast at Sweetwaters, head to Treetops at the Aberdares wildlife Park the lunch at the lodge. Your cottage is high up at the tree level where the animals will be viewed from your tree house or the Bar. The lions usually do their hunts at this huge water hole and salt lick, which also attracts hyena, Elephant, Eland and the Giant Forest Hogs. You may want to view the wildlife inside the animals hide on the property where the flood lights illuminate the water hole in the night. Meals and overnight at the Treetops Lodge. Day 5: Lake Baringo/Lake Bogoria.
Pre-breakfast game viewing, then depart for Lake Baringo, a fresh water lake reputed for bird watching, Rhino and Crocodiles. Lunch then proceed to Lake Bogoria which offers a great variety of wild game and Birds making it an ornithologists “paradise”, Arguably the best in East Africa . Also seethe shy greater Kudu, the majestic antelope with majestic spiraling horns, Cheetah, Impala, Grant’s Gazelle. Water Bucks etc. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park .
You may be After a morning breakfast, your safari guide will have another go at finding the prides of Lions on an early morning transit game drive towards Lake Nakuru. You transit through the great East African rift Valley then proceed to the Lake Nakuru National park. Have an afternoon game viewing trip alongside the Lake, then marvel at the millions of the flamingos that feed on the algae.

The evening after a game drive, we will have a drive along the Lake environs where chances of catching the African Lions are higher closer to the banks. Look out for the rare Rhinoceros that can be seen grazing in the Savannah shrub and grasslands. The Cape Buffalo, as well as the occasional warthog can be seen on the game viewing safari of the Lake Nakuru park. Later, have the final drive and proceed to your overnight accommodations at Lake Nakuru for dinner and overnight at Lion Hill Lodge.

Day 7: Masai Mara Safari Kenya
A morning breakfast at Sarova Lion Hill then have a morning Kenya Lion safari in the park. Following the vultures and the Hyenas, we would get to the hunting lions of the Lake Nakuru. The drive ends withe a long transit by safari vehicle into the Masai Mara National reserve where the drive is through the Masai country. The warriors of the Masai tribes and Samburu can be seen grazing their cattle as you head out into the Mara. We will arrive for lunch at the Tented camp in the Mara before enjoying an evening wildlife safari in the areas of the greatest concentration of the animals. Dinner will be served at the Tented Camp of choice of at the Masai Mara Lodge.

Day 8: Maasai Mara.
The migrations from Tanzania, usually come through with the Big Cats and the Hyenas that follow the Zebras, wildebeest and the Thomson’s Gazelle. The Lions in the Mara will be seen after the morning hunts as they rest under the Acacia Trees feeding on Gazelle or the Cape Buffalo. Hyenas are usually out in the field following the cheetah and scavenging for the Kills while clashing with the Jackals. In the afternoon, you transfer to your camp or safari lodge for lunch before having a sunset game viewing drive to find Gazelle Nile Crocodile and Hippos on the Mara River.
Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch with dinner.

Day 9: Maasai Mara Lion safari.

Breakfast at your Lodge or Tented camp, then start a morning game viewing safari in search of the game. You will probably see the African Lions playing with their young or simply enjoying a meal of Wildebeest in the nearby thicket. Look out for the Masai Ostrich, Topis and the Rhinos. The leopard may also be seen in the trees or on a morning game drive with the cubs. The afternoon is spent at the Lodge or safari camp watching game at from the accommodations by the River. Meals and evening Masai entertainment with traditional dances before overnight at the Masai Mara Lodge or Tented Camp.

Day 10: Nairobi
Breakfast at leisure and have another early morning game drive before checking out. Drive to Nairobi through the expansive plains then proceed to have lunch at your Hotel. The evening can be spent visiting the Carnival or relaxing by your overnight accommodation in Nairobi as you await the next destination the following day. Overnight at your preferred Hotel in Nairobi.

Day 11: Amboseli National Park .

Leave Nairobi after an early breakfast and proceed through the Tanzania road. You branch off close to the border in Namanga and proceed to the Amboseli National park where you arrive for an en route game drive before lunch at your overnight accommodation. In the evening, the weather conditions will probably favor game viewing in the flood plains of Lake Amboseli, where you may be able to see the huge Mount Kilimanjaro on the safari drive in the park. Later, have dinner and overnight at the Amboseli Lodge of choice or Tented Camp.

Day 12: Amboseli.
Morning wildlife viewing after breakfast where the Wildebeest and Zebras in numbers graze together close to the Swamp areas. Meanwhile, look out for Lions stalking the plains Antelope. Other wildlife to see are the Cape Buffalo, Cheetah, Large herds of Elephants, Masai Giraffe and other wildlife. The evening may be spent at the Observation point looking at the wildlife from the top of a hill. Meals and the night stay at the Amboseli Safari Lodge of choice or Private Tented camp for a feel of staying under canvass on an African Safari.

Day 13: Tsavo West National Park .
Breakfast early then proceed to the Tsavo National Park arriving at the Tsavo west for some wildlife viewing. The under water Hippos can be viewing from an observation compartment of clear glass where the crystal clear water hosts some wildlife at the Mzima springs. Spend the evening on the game drive in the Tsavo before dinner at your Lodge or private camp in Tsavo.

Day 14: Tsavo East National Park .

Our final day of safari in Africa starts with the last Kenya Lion safari in the Tsavo. The two African Lions that terrorized then fed on the Indian railway constructors in the 1898s. Featured in the Movie, (The ghost and the darkness) and presently displayed at the museum at Tsavo. The morning and afternoon safari reveals the great grand offspring of ”The” lion family on the morning or evening game drive. Meals and overnight at the Tsavo West Lodge or Private Tented Camp.

Day 15: Nairobi
An en route morning safari in the Tsavo west concludes the African safari as we head to Nairobi on a long drive. Finally, transfer to the airport and proceed to check in for your evening departure flight.
