Description
2 Day Tour Murchison Falls National Park
Day one: Very early morning pick up from your point of residence. At about 06:00am, start the 5 hour drive, then head to Murchison falls. After a short break for tea in Masindi, the 2 day tour Murchison Falls trip proceeds to the National park. You take a brief stop along the way to look at Baboons on the roadside. Vervet Monkeys, Helmeted guinea fowls and the red necked spur fowls may be seen. Later, drive to the top of the Murchison falls. You may also see Cape buffalo and Bush buck in the wallowing pools.
The longest river on earth crosses the East African Rift valley here. It breaks into columns of spectacular white water cascades over a 7 meter crevice. After taking pictures and walking through different viewpoints, you will then transfer to your accommodation. Stopping along the way, see Uganda Kob, birds and Warthogs before heading to to the Waterfront of the River Nile. Later, check in at the Lodge for lunch and a swim at the pool.
In the afternoon, the boat on the Nile begins gliding slowly along the banks. Meanwhile, look out for Baboon, Nile crocodiles which would be basking on the banks. Schools of Hippo grunting then yawning as the boat approaches. Elephants are usually cooling off in the water and Cape buffalo drinking. The old solitary bulls lazily grazing on the banks. The trip 2 hour journey through the wildlife ends at the landing spot where the boat will be anchored. This enables visitors take pictures of the mighty Murchison Falls from the bottom.

The massive pressure of the rapids gives rise to large volumes of foam as well as some dead fish. The fish attracts crocodile and the rock pratincoles at this point. Later, the boat trip will sail back to the Paraa area. The shorter return trip is through crushed water hyacinth and foam from the roaring Murchison waterfalls. Look out for African Jacana and possibly the rare whale headed stork. Here, you will return to your accommodations at the Lodge. Thereafter, dinner and overnight.
Day Two: After an early morning breakfast at the Lodge, your guide will then begin a morning game viewing safari. Through the thickets, the baboons from here on arise to start their day of foraging. The morning trip then heads out towards the Pakuba road where herds of the Hartebeests will be seen grazing gracefully.
In the Borassus palms alongside Oribi and Cape buffalo, you will see some Rothschild giraffe and with luck, prides of lion. These may be seen prowling the area on their daily hunts on the grassland. Later, drive through the Delta area where most of the wildlife is usually found in numbers. Head back to the crossing point to catch the mid morning ferry before heading back to Kampala.
