More information on what to pack for Africa
In addition to the above packing list for your Safari in Africa, you need to carry a guide book to the wildlife of Africa, Birds as well as plants. These should be handy for consulting and taking notes on what you will see on tour. Some simple games like playing cards or monopoly may come in handy, especially during the afternoons. We also would recommend a journal to record your experiences on the trip. A pair of binoculars, SLR camera with a good telephoto lens then one wide angle one for taking pictures of the African landscapes. You may also carry a disposable camera for miscellaneous photography. A mono or tripod is helpful when taking pictures of the chimpanzees or Mountain gorillas.
On the plane, you may carry a pillow for your neck to provide comfort during the long haul flights and the longer transits on the rough roads in Africa. Earplugs on the other hand, a white noise gadget should be a good idea.
A simple alarm clock should be included in a packing list Africa luggage, for the morning game drives. As well as timing for different tour activities .
