New Safari Hotel Arusha Mid range accommodation
First constructed in the mid 1930’s, the former Safari Hotel owned by Gladys and Margot, the English sisters that owned coffee plantations in the olden Tanzania. The Hotel changed names to the New Safari Hotel Arusha in 1964 when most of the properties were nationalized at the time the old Tanganyika became Tanzania. The Movie, ‘’Hatari’’ of 1962 featuring John Wayne was shot on location at this Hotel and some of the memorabilia still features in the Décor.
The Hotel has been upgraded into a mid-range property and features some 46 guest rooms which are accessed by elevator. The room types feature Standard rooms, Deluxe, as well as Suites with either double or twin or triple beds. All the rooms are tiled and offer air-conditioning. The rooms have Television with multi channels, Coffee/Tea makers, a mini bar, as well as free Wi-Fi.
The Safari hotel features the Pizzeria coffee bar that offers a selection of coffee and tea products. Light snacks, as well as barbecues are served here. Guests are welcome to order their favorite Pizza from the Pizzeria. The Malaika Restaurant specializes in local African dishes and buffet breakfast is served at this bar. The Tembo restaurant mostly offers Indian food and special Arab and Asian select cuisine from the Asian continent.
Conference facilities are available for smaller groups.
