Lake Mburo Safari, 3 Days
3 DAY LAKE MBURO SAFARI – EX KAMPALA OR ENTEBBE
Day one:
Morning departure out of Kampala or Entebbe, proceeding through the roadside fruit and vegetable Markets. You will drive pay local natives carrying “Matooke” (the native name for plantains) on bicycles. Have a brief stopover at the Uganda Equator where the local guide will give explanations on the different forces of nature. Later, drive through the Lukaya area, where the local fishermen sell different kinds of fish from the nearby Lake Victoria. We arrive at the Lodge or Safari Camp for lunch before an evening wildlife tour of Lake Mburo. The animals seen this day may include; Impala, Burchell’s Zebra, Eland and some rare birds like the scimitar-bills and the barefaced go away bird. Dinner and overnight at the Mihingo Lodge, Lake Mburo Safari Lodge or the Rwakobo rock Lodge. Meal arrangements: Lunch and dinner.

Day Two:
Lake Mburo Tour
The morning breakfast and start the walk with a ranger guide. The Walking safari at Lake Mburo starts by driving from your overnight accommodation to a starting point, where you meet the armed guide. From here, start a 2 hour walk into the Hyena’s Den, where it is possible to see these animals inside their burrows, you walk through the savannah, seeing Zebra, Cape Buffalo, Topi and at times Eland. These animals are attracted to a nearby salt lick, where you find warthog, Impala, Topi and other wildlife. The walk finally ends at the Lake Mburo shores, where Zebras and Cape buffalo may be seen drinking water from the swamps while the Sitatunga may also be spotted using binoculars. Later, a mid morning game drive commences and you only return to camp for lunch, before taking the evening tour along the Lakeside track to see Hippos and crocodiles on the Lake. White Pelicans, Marabou storks and other water birds are usually present in large numbers here. In the evening, return to your accommodations for dinner and overnight.

Day Three: Nature Walk Tours
Breakfast at your lodge or safari camp and have another morning Lake Mburo safari adventure in the acacia forested Savannah. Later, transfer to Kampala a after a picnic lunch break at the Equator. Transit time of about 4 – 5 hours in normal traffic conditions.

Lake Mburo safari ends with a drop off, either in Kampala or Entebbe.
